Asma Mirza - President
Sr. Asma is a second year MBA student at the University of Maryland. She is a recent graduate of Georgetown University where double majored in Management and Operations Information Management. While at Georgetown, she served as MSA President (‘04-’05), was a founding member of Campaign Civil Rights (‘03-’04), and as DC Council Rep (‘03-’04).
At the national level, Asma served as East Zone Rep USA (‘05-‘06). This past term she served as Treasurer and Director of the MSA Legacy Fund (MLF) for MSA National. In addition Asma worked as a consultant for Accenture. This year she aims to combine her corporate experience with project management and love of MSA to serve the students in North America.
Randa Kuziez - Vice President USA & Zonal Director
Sr. Randa attended Saint Louis University (SLU). While at SLU, Randa was involved with her local MSA, serving as the president. This past year, Randa worked with MSA National on the finances for the East Zone USA, Central Zone, and West Zone USA conferences. She looks forward to working with motivated college students to further advance MSA National and maintain the its ever-growing network of students.
Zainab Khan - Vice President Canada & Task Force Director
Zainab Khan is a student at Queen's University in Canada. She began working with MSA National in 2005 and served as Vice President Canada until 2007. Since then she has been Chair of Media & Communication Task Force. She also serves as a member of COMPASS, MSA National's management training program.
Danish Adil - Treasurer
Br. Danish recently graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a B.S. in physics. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Missouri-Columbia. While at UMSL, he served as secretary and then president. He also chaired the 2008 Central Zone Conference. He is exited about the upcoming year and hopes to serve his fellow students as best he can.
Mohamed Sheibani - Ex-officio
A recent graduate of the University of Ottawa, Br. Mohamed has been with MSA National since 2003 serving as the East Zone Canada Representative (2003), Vice President Canada (2003, 2004), President (2005, 2006) and now Ex-Officio. He also served on the ISNA Majlis al Shura and ISNA Canada Council. He continues to serve on the Budget and Finance committee & Constitution committee for ISNA. He is also the deputy coordinator for the International Youth Committee (IYC) of the World Conference on Religions for Peace. He has also worked with the Ottawa Muslim Association, The Family Eid Festival as well as Human Concern International.
As Ex-Officio of MSA National, Mohamed hopes to continue to build on the work that has been completed by previous boards, with regards to putting an emphasis on institutionalization and outreach. He also intends to make MSA National more transparent and relevant to the regular MSA chapters and students.

Nura Sediqe - Central Zone USA Rep
Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Sr. Nura is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where obtained her bachelor’s degree in political science, communications and Near Eastern studies. Nura has been active locally in her MSA, serving on her MSA’s executive board for the past 3 years. She also served as the chair of the Great Lakes Council in Michigan.
Before becoming Central Zone representative, she served as the conference chair for the 2007 Central Zone conference in Michigan. Nura looks forward to taking the energy and activism that has helped revive MSA’s in Michigan and strengthen the chapters in other states with this same vigor and spirit.
Yasmn Elhady - West Zone USA Rep
Sr. Yasmin is currently a 2nd year law student at UCLA School of Law. Sr. Yasmin recently graduated from Emory University and former fellow at the American University in Cairo. She has previously served as a spokesperson for MSA National and Chair of the Georgia/Atlanta Council. During her time as Council Chair, she founded the first- ever city-wide Fast-A-Thon and was one of Glamour Magazine's Top 10 College Women to Watch. She expects to graduate in 2010.

Samir Hassan - West Zone Canada Rep
Br. Samir attends the University of Winnipeg located in Manitoba Canada and is in his final year of an undergrad degree majoring in Criminal Jusice and Conflict Resolution Studies. Opportunities siezd by Samir have lead him to become a helper, motivator and leader within his MSA and throughout his community.
Samir is team player who is willing to lead by example and his experience with other national Muslim organizations will assist him as he works to unite West Zone Canada.
Your MSA National Task Force Chairs
Yasmine Hussein - Community Service Task Force Chair
Sr. Yasmin attended Florida Atlantic University where she completed her Bachelors in Intercultural/Organizational Communication with a minor in History. She has been involved in her local Project Downtown chapter for almost 2 years now and hopes to help continue the growth of PD across North America. Prior to becoming CSTF Chair, Sr. Yasmin served as the Action Hour coordinator and helped coordinate AH for last year's East Zone conference and Continental Conference.
Meraj Ahmed - IT Task Force Chair
Southern born and raised, Br. Meraj is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham pursuing his degree in Electrical Engineering. He served as the President of his university’s MSA chapter for two years.
At the national level, Meraj is beginning his third year as IT task force chair. He has also also previously served as a member of the East Zone USA zonal committee for three years. In this next term, Meraj hopes to continue befitting MSA National with his technical experience in order that the organization may further realize its vision and meet its goals.
Idris Elbakri - Compass Task Force Chair
Br. Idris completed his B.S. and M.S. at Brigham Young University (BYU) and Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, all in Electrical Engineering. At BYU, he served two terms as MSA chapter vice-president, and while at Michigan served again as MSA president, graduate student representative to the Michigan Student Assembly and vice-president of the Islamic Center of Ann Arbor.
After finish his Ph.D. in ‘03, he joined MSA National as the vice-chair of the Education and Training Task Force. He currently serves as the chair of COMPASS, MSA National’s management training program.
Chancey Gannett, Programs Task Force Chair
Sr. Chancey is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland- College Park. She is serving as the Programs Task Force chair for a second term. Chancey was active at the local level with her MSA and served as the Program chair for the ‘06 East Zone USA Conference hosted by her university. She also developed the program for the National annual Continental conference in ‘06 again as the program chair.
