Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah!

I’m Aamna Anwer, your 2010-2011 Central Zone Representative. I want to make

myself as available as possible to each and every person in the Central Zone. Any

ideas, suggestions, criticisms, and general comments are always welcome. MSA

National is your organization and we only exist to support you in your local MSA

chapter.

I’d like to introduce some of my plans for the upcoming year.

The annual Central Zone conference will insha’Allah take place a weekend in March.

Of course this depends on which city hosts it. I encourage all of you to discuss with

your MSA executive boards if you are interested in hosting the conference and

please contact me so I can send you all relevant documents.

Another aim for my term is to offer leadership and management training to several

localities through our COMPASS program. A few key areas I have in mind are

Chicago, Texas, Minnesota, and St. Louis. If you think your city would be interested

The next project is a speaker tour that will most likely take place in Ohio in

February. We will insha’Allah book a prominent speaker to come tour various

campuses across the state for the benefit of several student populations.

Finally, as I mentioned when I ran for this position, one of my goals is to have a

service project that all MSAs can collectively collaborate on. I’m hoping to work

with Islamic Relief USA to have an orphan drive where MSAs can work together in

finding orphan sponsors for some of the 133 million orphaned children around the
