Salams MSAers! I pray this e-mail finds everyone in a happy, post-finals-pre-summer-state.  As many of us are recovering from finals and preparing for internships / travels / the next round of classes, I will keep this Desktop short.

Alhamdulilah, I'm proud to welcome Sr. Namika Zaman from the University of Maryland as the new national Fast-A-Thon coordinator.  Sr. Namika was an active member of her local MSA and coordinated her campus's Fast-A-Thon.  Insha'Allah she will serve as a valuable resource for your MSA as you think of new and creative ways to hold this national dawah event.

While the school year may be over, conference season is far from it!  Insha'Allah two zonal conferences, West Zone Canada and East Zone Canada, along with the MSA portion of the ISNA East Zone Regional conference in Baltimore will be held this week.  I look forward to benefiting from the dynamic programs and hard work of so many MSAers.

Insha'Allah the summer conference season is almost here!  Since like many of you, I'll be missing my MSA during the summer months, these conferences will provide an opportunity to network and learn.  Over July 4th weekend, MSA National will be co-sponsoring the YM portion of the ICNA convention.  That same weekend, we will be planning the MSA portion of the ISNA South East Regional conference in Texas.

Of course the summer will culminate with the biggest conference of the year - the annual Continental Conference, held parallel to the Annual ISNA Convention, in Columbus, Ohio.  We've already begun working on the program to incorporate new ideas to make the most of this amazing gathering only a few days before Ramadan.

I pray we all make the most of this summer and plan for the year ahead!Wassalams!

MSA'ers, Say Goodbye to English Translations!

June 10-July 11 and only $300 dollars!

The Fawakih Quranic Arabic Intensive
is the perfect compliment to MSA activism. Until recently, the only way to learn Quranic Arabic was to spend exorbitant amounts of money, energy, and time to travel overseas and study.

Those days are over.  Welcome to the Fawakih.  Our curriculum is designed for passionate student who are sick of approaching Arabic as a foreign language and want to taste the fruits of the Quran, prayer, and the Islamic tradition and finally leave the CRUTCH of English translations behind.

The Fawakih Summer Intensive is dedicated to providing a high quality 30-day program that brings together leading scholars of Quran and Arabic with motivated students in an intimate learning environment. The program is unique in its focus on the 30th Juz of the Quran (the shorter surahs) as these are most often what people are reciting in their prayers. A deep understanding of these Surahs will have an immediate effect on the quality of one's prayer! The program has been designed to accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced Arabic tracks.

APPLY NOW due to high demand for this program. http://www.fawakih.com
