WEST ZONE CANADA

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
Insha'Allah this post finds all its readers in the best of health and a high level of iman.

SubhanAllah, what Allah wills always comes to be and my experience with last year's West Zone Canada Conference (first west zonal conference conducted in 6 years Alhumdulillah) is a great example of just that. With half the preparation time, exams (finals), keynote speaker cancelation (with less than a week to go) and literally having the sealing in the main lecture hall give way to the rain (only hours before the conference started) we still managed to put together a wonderful conference, Allahu wakbar!

As a result of the hard work put in by all the dedicated and committed brothers and sisters and most importantly by way of the mercy of Allah swt, we managed to overcome some major challenges. One the main learning points from last year's experience (there were many Alhumdulillah) that will guide me through the new challenges to be faced this year is; Never lose hope in the Mercy of Allah swt.

We made duah, worked hard and put our trust in Allah swt. When the dust settled we finished all the prep work just in time, the keynote speaker found his way back into our program (overseas conference was rescheduled) and the conference committee along with many wonderful volunteers managed to move the entire conference to another college on campus in only two hours (University of Manitoba). SubhanAllah, impossible it nothing if Allah wills it to be.

I pray Inshallah that this year will be even more rewarding then the last, that more of my brothers and sisters in our Zonal MSA's will get involved in their local MSA's and with MSA national, that West Zone Canada begins to actualize its awesome potential and most importantly that Allah swt continues to shower us all with his mercy. Ameen.

I look forward to working with familiar faces (or should I say emails :) and to meeting many great new people.

Wasalam

CENTRAL ZONE USA

Assalamualaikum!!
Welcome to another great year with the MSA. It's been an honor and a privilege to get elected to continue as Zonal Representative for the upcoming 2008-09 school year.

What is the Central Zone? For Muslim students living in the 19 states in the Midwest of the U.S., it's your family and connection, it's not just your connection to MSA National but to Muslims across the two continents. Change. It's that word we've been hearing on campuses all over the country.  And change is a theme that resonates beyond the political realm. As an organization dedicated to Muslim students, we are also changing to improve our network and relationships with who really counts : you. The Muslim student.

The Central Zone can connect others to create a network of students whose unity and support can encourage and empower all Muslims involved in the MSA CZ family. Put simply, we will be trying to get in touch with every college in each state in the zone and see what you need.

MSA National has a lot of great resources and opportunity, it's time everyone connect and find what they need to help them with the change in their lives.
M.T. Gandhi once said, "We must each be the change we wish to be in this world."  I know what change and improvements I'd like to see, but more importantly, we need to know what YOU the Muslim students would like to see happen.  I ask you all to join and email me at least one thing that your university needs from MSA CZ.

The Central Zone Executive Committee has a few positions still open for those interested in helping outreach on a more national level. Contact me and do join it if you are interested in bringing that change.
I look forward to connecting with as many Muslims students as possible and receiving your  insight. In the meantime, keep posted for regular updates on our website: czusa.msanational.org!

Wa Alaikum as Salaam wa Rahmatullah,
