This Ramadan over 200 campuses held Fast-A-Thons to promote interfaith understanding and raise money for the less fortunate. As another example of Muslims reaching out to people of all faiths and backgrounds many campuses will hold a "Peace...Not Prejudice" event this October.
On a personal note, I had the opportunity be on Capital Hill as the Ramadan Resolution was passed by Congress. The resolution "recognizes the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world" and expresses the "deepest respect to Muslims in the United States and throughout the world on this significant occasion." We thank all the organizations and individuals who by the will of Allah helped make this resolution possible.
For the past 44 years, MSA National has striven to facilitate the networking, educating, and empowering of Muslim students on campuses across North America . W e facilitate the development and provision of opportunities for learning and training for university and college students. Many of these students take these skills into their local Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
During these blessed days Eid, we hope you will consider becoming part of the MSA Legacy Fund by supporting the programs and activities of MSA National. Please take a minute today and visit http://www.msanational.org/donate/ to make your contribution of $10, $20, $60, $120 or whatever amount you wish to spend in the path of Allah.
May Allah accept all of our efforts, and bless you for your generosity. Eid Mubarak!
Waalyakum Massalam,
Asma Mirza
President
