MSA National News Releases
12/08/07 - In the Footsteps of our Teachers: Commit to the Pledge & Code of Honor
Asalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatuhu,
As we prepare for the days of Dul-Hijj and Muslims from all corners of the Earth travel to Mecca, in coordination with our teachers MSA National is encouraging Muslim students to join our leaders and pledge their commitment to furthering cooperation and understanding within our faith.
In September 2007, Muslim scholars from various ideologies ratified the historic Pledge of Mutual Respect and Cooperation (See MSA National's press release http://www.msanational.org/news/10/71/). Scholars and students agreed to quell disagreements across ideologies.
This September community leaders also signed the Muslim Code of Honor to help end sectarian violence (See MSA National's press release http://www.msanational.org/news/18/71/). Community leaders agreed to respect differences between Shiites and Sunnis to help end sectarian violence.
MSA National is dedicated to fostering unity in the Muslim community and particularly on campuses across the continent, and thus invites you; today's students of knowledge and the tomorrow's scholars, leaders and Islamic workers to follow suit by committing to this pledge and more importantly, seriously adhering to it in both letter and spirit.

Waalaaykum Assalam,
