04/23/08 - In memorium of Br. Usamah

MSA National sends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Usamah Ansari, a young student in Vancouver, Canada who passed away on Sunday, April 13th, 2008 in a tragic auto accident. Usamah Ansari was not only highly regarded by students but also faculty. He was the recipient of the Top Student Award in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Simon Fraser University as well as the Dean's Convocation Medal upon his graduation in the Summer of 2007. The University honors Ansari by naming the Top Student Award after him as the "Usamah Ansari Top Student Award" in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

We cannot begin to imagine the tremendous loss Ansari's parents and close friends must feel and we pray for them during this difficult time. Ansari was an impressive student and a role model for his community.

We ask MSA members to pray for Br. Usamah and his family.
